General

New security regulations following Sept 11th means that you have to be very careful what you take on board an Aircraft.

Check carefully what you carry in your pockets, handbags and any cabin luggage, remove any sharp objects that could possibly be used as a weapon, things like metal nailfiles, corkscrews, tweezers, nail clippers, scissors, cutlery (?!), and novelty metal tags etc from keyrings. These can go in luggage carried in the hold if neccessary.

Try and sort this one BEFORE leaving for the Airport !

Dont leave luggage or packages unattended in airports, trains, train stations, trams, public places anywhere on your journey, such may be treated as "suspicious" and removed by the authorities ( if the thieves dont get there first !)

Remain alert at all times, report anything you see that seems suspicious immediately - no-one is going to blame you for a false alarm!

Be patient with any delays and searches due to extra security - it is for your benefit.

Try and arrive at the Airport for your flight as early as possible - check a few days before you leave for current check-in times either with travel agent or airport.

Above all, relax as much as you can on your journey - and look forward positively to a great time in Amsterdam !
